Another reason not to give up on ebay: I got a message earlier today from ebay for 10% off purchase price of an item if using Paypal, THEN received an email from ebay with a $10 off shipping coupon. I just scored a 1987 $5 US gold constitution commemorative for about $25 below spot, even after s/h and insurance. :D

Sweet! I just picked up two 1/10 oz. Gold Eagles, and one 1/10 oz. Gold Maple for $92, $95, and $92, and then there's the 10% off coupon! Loving it!

Wow, I am quoting myself...........................To update my post, you can only use one coupon per transaction. I went ahead and use the 10% off coupon, which equated to $21.35 off. After s/h and insurance, I still only paid $200.14. I'm happy, see...:D

Those 10% off coupons only work if you're an American and Ebay doesn't realize that Amerika is no longer where the real money is now anyway... maybe they'll figure that out in the years to come!

Got it an it's a beauty and auction NEVER mentioned minted and assayed by Engelhard so I was thrilled when I opened the package.

I used one of my $10 off shipping for (10) Sunshine Silver 1 oz. bars in cases for BIN of $175.00 = $17.50/oz ( should be here tomorrow)

I used 4 of my 5 auctions with free listing fees with 1 more to go. Just need to look around the house for something higher end to sell with a BIN because I'm not wasting a free listing on an item where the listing fee is 35

I love those little sunshine bars!:applause_Of course I love the big bars too!!:D

You can always find rolls of 40% halves on ebay shipped for under spot. You can sometimes find decent deals on 90% also. I've pretty much given up on trying to buy any .999 on ebay though.

Man I hope some of you were on ebay last night because it diden't seem like any other silver buyers were.I tossed out a mercy bid on 10 1oz NWT bars in plastic and won them $184 insured UPS.
Probably a good thing I diden't bid on others because I sure diden't expect to get that one.:applause_

I hear you. I picked up a couple of rolls of SAE's for as good as of price as I have ever gotten on ebay. My bids were also early bids, the snipers were silent last night. My theory was yesterday was the first day after the expiration of the ebay 10% coupons and many bidders were not around or had blown their wads on bigger purchases.

Tonight looks like a different story with the auctions I had targeted. :banghead:

Only probem with the 40% is they knock you way down if you go to sell, if holding its good deal.

Glad you were there too and did good.
Usually I would place a half dozen bids like I did and not win any.It would have been easy to burn off a couple thousand or more last night on things you never expected to win, and every one a great deal.
Should have gone for gold bars, but who knew?:banghead:

I have been finding "Buy-it-Now" deals on both silver & gold for the past 4-5 days (they are gone VERY quickly when they do show up). Getting bullion shipped under spot, when prices are so low already (IMO) is a no-brainer.

Tonite's find:
$235 melt value @ today's spot price, insured & shipped for $211:applause_

http://cgi.ebay.com/1987-U-S-Constit...QQcmdZViewItem

Kind of makes it hard to not use Ebay, especially after some of the discounts they offer. I want to quit Ebay, really I do, but...:banghead: hey, a deal's a deal. :deal:

Able to sell Silver Maples for $21 all day on Ebay, not bad when I just paid $13.25 for 'em at BullionDirect. These premiums are ridiculous! I wonder how long this can last? Can't turn down buyers that are willing to pay well over 2x the spot price!:ok:

eBay is dying....traffic is down about 2/3 from a year ago...also, they hiked selling fees recently (as high as 12%+ on small-dollar items).....it's no longer a viable market for many sellers......I had a philatelic business on eBay, but I scrapped it recently due to these reasons...

I sell on there, just not as much as I used to and with the new fee/feedback structure I dont blame you. Do you sell your stamps online somewhere else now?

Individual listings seem to get the higher premiums for me.

Sold under one of my accounts earlier tonight:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=190262434148

$21 w/ buy-it-now (maybe live.com buyers?), of course I'll have to pay Ebay fees so its prob. more like $18.50 or so. Still, not bad...

Yeah, 16.95 +3.95 S/H = $20.90 total sale price. I'd just call that $21, close Enuff

I know what you mean. No matter what, Ebay is still the easiest place to find a bargain, and the most reliable place to find people with more money than brains. Today I bought a 1924 silver dollar for 99 cents + $4.80 S&H. It was like 12 minutes before the end and nobody had bid on it. I also sold a few pieces today. I didn't get as much as I thought I would, but I still got way more than what the local coin shop would have paid, even after the fees.

NICE SCORE! I've been grabbing a lot of Mexican 2.5 pesos gold coins lately, at or near spot. Nice little coins; they'll make great currency some day.
